Wacha Shines in Cards 12-4 Win over the Mets

The Cardinals won their third straight Spring Training game, beating the Mets 12-4 on Wednesday in Port St. Lucie, Florida. Cardinals first round pick from last season, pitcher Michael Wacha was brilliant in the win. Wacha came on in relief in the third inning and threw three scoreless innings. The outing was highlighted by five Wacha strikeouts.

Offensively the Cardinals continued to mash the ball this spring. Shane Robinson led the way with a home run and a double to account for three runs batted in. Carlos Beltran and Yadier Molina added two runs doubles each. David Freese, Jon Jay and Matt Adams also added an RBI each with hits. In all the Cardinals pounded out 14 hits on the day.
