The Blues were desperate for a win and desperate to score some goals. The newest Blue Jay Bouwmeester delivered the game-tying goal in the third period and Alexander Steen added the game-winner in the shootout as the Blues beat Vancouver 2-1 Tuesday night at Scottrade Center. Brian Elliott picked up the win stopping 21 of 22 shots by the Canucks. Vancouver’s goalie Corey Schneider was really strong in net, stopping 35 of 36 shots.
But in the shootout both Andy McDonald and Steen were able to solve Schneider. The Blues homestand continues with two more games. Hosting Phoenix on Thursday night, then Dallas on Friday night.
