Pittsburgh Pirates pitcher A,J. Burnett dominated the Cardinals on Wednesday night in Pittsburgh. Burnett allowed just one hit over seven innings in the Pirates 5-0 victory. Carlos Beltran’s two out double in the 7th inning was the only hit the Cardinals got in the game. Cardinals rookie pitcher Shelby Miller pitched well allowing just two runs in six innings of work. But Miller received no run support and saw his season record drop to 2-1. The Cardinals actually made more errors, two, than they had hits, one in the game.

The Cardinal continue their East Coast road trip when they begin a four game series in Philadelphia on Thursday night. Adam Wainwright will pitch for the Cards, taking on the Phils Cole Hammels.
