MILWAUKEE (KTVI)- A single by Jon Jay broke a ninth-inning tie, scoring Shane Robinson and leading the Cardinals to their fifth straight victory, 7-6 over the Brewers Saturday.

Jay, who has been breaking out of a hitting slump, also hit a three-run homer in the second inning. Allen Craig and Daniel Descalso also homered, hitting their first of the year. The offense helped starter Adam Wainwright, who gave up five runs on 11 hits in 5 1-3 innings.

The Cardinals have the best record in the National League. The Brewers are now 4 1/2 behind the Cardinals in the standings with the final game of the series on Sunday.
