Fluke Goal Knocks Blues Out Of Playoffs

(KTVI)- The Los Angeles Kings got a goal from Dustin Penner with 0.2 seconds remaining in the second period. That was the the winning goal as the Kings defeat the Blues 2-1 in Game 6 of  the Western Conference playoff quarterfinal series. The Los Angeles victory clinched the best of seven series four games to two for the Kings.

The Blues, who hit two goal posts, during Game 6 deserved a better fate. L.A. opened the scoring in the first period on Drew Doughty's goal. The Blues tied the game on Chris Porter's deflection of Roman Polak's shot. Then the disaster of Penner's last second goal in the second period.

The defending Stanley Cup champion Kings advance to the second round of the NHL playoffs to face either the Anaheim Ducks or the San Jose Sharks.
