EDWARDSVILLE, IL (KTVI) - If you're planning to attend SIU-Edwardsville next semester, get ready to pay more for it.

The SIU board has approved tuition hikes that will impact many students.  For undergraduates, the increase applies only to new students. If you're already an undergrad at SIUE, you tuition will not increase.  But current undergrads will still have to deal with an increase in other fees.

New SIUE undergrads will pay 5 percent more for the 2013-2014 school year. That results in a $348 tuition increase over last year. Graduate students this fall will see a three percent hike which amounts to a $198 jump.

The increases means the new annual tuition rate for undergrads will be nearly $7300. Graduate students will pay just over $6700
