MAPLEWOOD, MP (KTVI) – At the Maplewood Street Festival, foodies, shoppers, and everyone in between converge on Sutton Blvd. to enjoy the bites, sights and sounds of a city known for everything hip and happening.
The event celebrates its 5th year on Saturday, May 18 and organizers are spicing it up with a new feature: “The Best of the Taste of Maplewood” food and drink contest.
Vendors will battle for bragging rights to have their vittles and libations hailed the 'Best Of' by celebrity judges, including Allyson Mace of Sauce Magazine, John Carney of The Big 550 KTRS and Maplewood Mayor James White. Categories include Best Sweet Tooth, Best Unexpected Flavor, Best Cocktail and Best Taste of Maplewood.
Gabe Kveton, from Water Street Cafe & Cocktail, stopped by to show Tim one of his favorite dishes.
Main Stage live entertainment will include The Dave Glover Band, UJ & The Down Home Blues Band and the Blue Devils Rhythm `n` Blues Band. Visitors will also enjoy live entertainment by Maplewood`s own Focal Point, Studio Forte, The Folk School and Giant Steps of St. Louis.
The Maplewood Fire Department and engine will also make an appearance at the event.
