NEW YORK, NY (KTVI) – It’s a Golden Girl gone wild! A topless painting of actress Bea Arthur has made it to an auction block in New York City.
The painting sold for $1.9 million. The nude was painted by artist John Currin who lives in Brooklyn and is known for works featuring women in provocative positions.
Currin did the work of art back in 1991, drawing up controversy because Arthur never actually sat for Currin. Still no word on who bought the painting.
