Woman Loses Multiple Cats In North City Fire

NORTH ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI)-A woman made it out of her burning St. Louis home but several of her cats did not.  The St. Louis Fire Department says five cats died when a home in the 1900 block of Angelrodt in north St. Louis caught fire Saturday around 10:00am.

Two other cats survived.

One woman lived in the home with the seven cats. She made it outside safely. The house suffered major damage.

The two cats are being cared for by the Humane Society of Missouri. The American Red Cross is providing shelter for the woman.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
