ST. LOUIS, MO. (KTVI) – The St. Louis Art Museum will close at 5:00 pm on Sunday, June 16th to prepare for the opening of its new east building expansion.
The opening of the east building, is the culmination of 3 years of construction, that will allow the museum to exhibit 21 new galleries, 230 works of art, 50 of which have not been seen in 20 years.
A ribbon cutting for the grand opening will be held on June 29th at 9:30 am. The museum will formally reopen at 10:00 am to the public.
June 29th- 10:00 am-10:00 pm
June 30th- 12:00 noon-5:00 pm
Following the opening ceremonies, the public will be invited to attend the festivities on the grounds of the art museum for food booths, hands on crafts and performance by local artist an musician.
