Paralympian ends 71-day journey
NY, NY, (FOX NEWS) – After a three-thousand mile push across America, Ryan chalmers crosses the finish line!
It took Chalmers seventy-one days to get from Los Angeles to New York, all while racing his wheelchair.
He was born with spina bifida, leaving him without complete use of his legs.
So he set out from LA on April sixth, traveling through fourteen states before hitting the big apple today (Saturday 6/15).
His journey across the country was to raise awareness for scuba diving opportunities for disables youth in the Cayman Islands.
That’s where Chalmers learned to scuba dive through stay-focused which provides motivating dive programs.
Chalmers completed his journey in Central Park.
