ST. LOUIS COUNTY, MO (KTVI) - The St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney's office has filed charges against a teenager who police say left the scene of a fatal accident.

Charles Guice, 17, was charged with Leaving the Scene of an Accident on Tuesday.  According to police, Guice admitted to hitting 2-year-old Darrion Griffin and his 17-year-old Sheriea Evans on Sunday.

Guice was traveling on Redman Boulevard near Bellfontaine Road in Spanish Lake when the accident happened. He told police he left the scene because he was scared.  The toddler died.

Guice turned himself into police on Monday. Griffin’s grandmother, Alexandria Goree, spoke to the media Sunday night pleaded for the person responsible to come forward.

This crime has affected the entire neighborhood.  Two neighbors said speeding is a problem on Redman.  One woman said the kids do not have sidewalks to play on.  Another said her son was hit on the same street 20 years ago.  The driver stayed at the scene, and her son survived but still has injuries from the accident.
