CHESTERFIELD, MO. (KTVI) – Chesterfield police are investigating a series of thefts from the area’s grocery stores that involve some quick hands at the self-service checkout.

After scanning a bottle of wine, the thirsty thief then substituted a more expensive selection in its place, police said. An investigation is ongoing, but police described the suspect as a 41-year-old male who has performed the scam at least twice.
