Man Missing From Washington, MO Found Dead

13-001449(KTVI) – Authorities in Washington County found a missing man’s body near his home.

John Harper, 49, was last seen on Monday around 6:30 p.m. He had been visiting relatives in the 900 block of East 6th Street in Washington, MO when he was reported missing. After three days of searching by Washington police and family, Harper was found dead Thursday by family members. His body was discovered alongside a detached garage near his residence.

Police say they performed a thorough search of that area when Harper was reported missing, but the original search revealed nothing. At some point after the initial search, Harper’s body appeared alongside the garage.

A medical examiner has been notified. There is no evidence of foul play. According to family members, Harper had seemed despondent before he went missing. Harper was originally from Kentucky.
