ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI)-- From hot and humid to "Should I bring a jacket?".  The cool down in the weather is welcome news for weekend plans. Even with a rain in the forecast, the fact that temperatures will only top out around 80° will have people ditching the AC and getting outside.

The usual summer heat and humidity can put a stop to many outdoor plans, from morning runs to backyard barbecues. But with temperatures running 10° below normal this weekend, folks will be itching to get outside. One place you can go is to the St. Louis Art Museum. They will be celebrating the grand opening of the new East Building with a party outdoors and in. Tour the new galleries, then stick around for World of Art outdoor activities and live music all evening long.

There was no need for the air conditioner Friday evening; the condition of the air is just fine.

Usually waiting in line for a free seat at the Muny can be like going to a clambake where you`re the clam, but not tonight.

While the Muny has all summer to play weather roulette, groups holding special events usually have just one weekend and those who picked this weekend are thrilled, like Stray Rescue, which is hosting a block party.

Last year it was so hot at Pridefest, organizers decided this year not to allow pets and they are sticking to it.

For garden shops, our cold rainy spring hurt their business, now they are hoping to get even.

There is the danger the cooler weather will also be wet weather, but Pride St. Louis isn`t worried about nature raining on their parade.

On the other hand, if it does storm they might just get a rainbow.

This weekend’s weather is much more agreeable than that of a year ago. In 2012, the last weekend of June brought triple digit heat. This weekend’s highs will likely be 25-30 degrees cooler than this time last year.

Just keep an umbrella handy.
