A Ceremonial sword taken from Saddam Hussein’s personal office in Baghdad is back in the hands of the Iraqi government. It was returned to the Iraqi ambassador during a private ceremony in Washington.

US immigration and customs enforcement released a statement saying the sword had been smuggled into the US by military personnel after the US invasion of Iraq.

The 43-inch sword inlaid with gold Arabic writing was seized from a New Hampshire auction company last year.
