Witness in gun battle with liquor store robbers

ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) – Robbers got into a shoot-out with a witness after robbing a liquor store in north St. Louis.

Police say the robbers held-up a person at gunpoint. Then they went to the liquor store at the 5900 block of Lillian with guns drawn on Thursday at around 10pm. A witness saw the suspects rob the store.

That witness then went into the store to offer help. Police say he returned back outside the store with a firearm. The 21-year-old suspect raised his gun and the witness then fired a shot. That gunshot hit one of the suspects in the leg.

Both suspects started shooting robbery witness; he was not injured. The suspects then fled the scene westbound.

One of the suspects was located at a hospital where he was being treated for a gunshot wound.

Police are still looking for the suspects. One suspect is described by police as a 21-year-old black male. The second suspect is described as a black male, 20-25 years old, 5’10’-6’0” and 150-175 lbs. If you have any information reach CrimeStoppers at: http://stlrcs.org/
