MADISON, IL (KTVI) – The United Black Drag Racers Association is holding a fundraiser at Gateway Motorsports Park (formally known as Gateway International Raceway) this weekend. Margaret Williams explains the UBDRA has presented Black Sunday drag racing weekend since 1995.

Black Sunday drag racing at Gateway is a fun, family event with adult racing cars, motorcycles, trucks, and dragsters.  Children 8 - 16 race their Junior Dragsters, there's a little kid's play area, a hydraulic car show and competition for teens and young adults, and venders with various types of merchandise and food.

UBDRA, a not-for-profit organization, holds Black Sunday drag racing weekend to raise money to donate funds to organizations that help people and to give scholarships to high school graduates in Missouri and Illinois communities.  Members donate their time and show their cars at community events and schools whenever invited throughout the year.
