CASEYVILLE, IL (KTVI)-- Caseyville police and the DCFS are investigating the death of a two-week-old baby girl.

Tuesday morning, the girl was taken to a Cracker Barrel restaurant where she was unconscious and not breathing.

The baby was staying at a hotel across the street with her parents.

Witnesses said that the mother was "screaming for help" and "running with the baby."

Witnesses and a police officer attempted CPR until paramedics arrived.

The baby was taken to Belleville Memorial Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

So far no charges have been filed in the case.

However, witnesses told FOX 2 that the mother told police someone rolled over on the baby in their sleep.

The two-week-old is from East St. Louis.

Police said the parents have been questioned.
