Cardinals Power Past Mariners 12-2

After having virtually no offense in the first two games of their series with the Mariners, the Cardinals pounded out 19 hits and powered past Seattle 12-2 on Sunday at Busch Stadium. The win finished a 7-2 home stand for the Redbirds. Yadier Molina and Matt Adams each hit home runs in the offensive onslaught. Shelby Miller got the win on the mound. The rookie pitcher raised his season record to 14-9.

The Pirates also won their game on Sunday, leaving the Cardinals and the Bucs tied atop the NL Central division with 13 games left in the season.
