Despite falling behind 21-0 in the first half, The Rams battled back and made a game of it, only to fall to the Falcons 31-24 on Sunday in Atlanta. Former Rams running back Steven Jackson started the scoring on an eight yard TD pass from Matt Ryan to make it 7-0. A Ryan 81 yard TD bomb pass to Julio Jones made it 14-0. Then in the second quarter, the Falcons Osi Umenyiora intercepted Sam Bradford's pass and returned in 68 yards for a "Pick Six" and a 21-0 Atlanta lead. Down 24-3 in the third quarter, Bradford threw a TD pass to rookie Tavon Austin for his first NFL touchdown, making it a 24-10 game. Then in the fourth quarter, Bradford threw another TD pass to Austin Pettis and the Falcons lead was down to seven at 24-17. The Falcons then got the backbreaking touchdown from Jason Snelling on an 11 yard run, 31-17 Falcons. Bradford and Austin hooked up for another score to cut the lead to 31-24, but that's where the scoring ended.

The loss drops the Rams record to 1-1. Fox 2 Sports reporter Charlie Marlow was in the Rams locker room at the Georgia Dome and has the post game report.
