Police identify suspect in Caseyville hit and run

Update:  The Caseyville police have identified a suspect in the hit and run of a 37-year-old woman found in a ditch.  Police say the suspect is a 60-year-old man who is currently in a local hospital.

CASEYVILLE, IL. (KTVI) – Caseyville Police Department is investigating what appears to be a hit and run.

It happened on St. Clair Ave. near Illinois 157 either Saturday night or Sunday morning.

37-year-old Myia Holman, of St. Louis, was spotted in a ditch by a passenger on a MetroLink train.

"I just saw a body looking out the window, "Caprise Bates said.”It was horrible."

Police believe she was in the ditch for hours.

"She had some serious blunt trauma that looked like it was from some type of car," Interim Caseyville Police Chief Frank Moore said.

She was rushed to an area hospitaland her family has been notified.

As of 6 p.m. Sunday she was in critical condition.

"I just feel horrible for that woman," Bates said. "It is sad for her family."
