UNIVERSITY CITY, MO. (KTVI) – A teacher in the University City School District got $1,000 in school supplies – for free -- thanks to OfficeMax.  And, it was a total surprise.
Tori palmer teaches 3rd graders at Barbara Jordan Elementary School.  She said she was just at OfficeMax last night for classroom supplies.  She says she has spent $350 of her own money in past school years.  Palmer said she is not the only teacher who goes into her own pocket for her students.

“I thank OfficeMax for giving me the supplies that I need,” she wiped tears from her eyes.  “My students, you all are great.  I’m excited to come to work every day and be a part of the team with you all.  And other teachers just keep working hard.  It pays off.”
OfficeMax surprised twelve other St. Louis – area teachers as part of their “A Day Made Better” program.
