ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) – It’s the end of an era in Branson. after more than half a century in business the Shepherd of the Hills outdoor theatre is closing. The final performance will be October 19th leaving 90 castmembers out of work.
Rising production and insurance costs, along with declining crowds, are the reasons for the closure. The outdoor theatre has been in business for 54 years.
Summer tours of the area will continue, and the inspiration tower and the zip-rider will remain open year-round.
