Government shutdown could double milk prices

ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) – When the government shut down on Monday, it also marked the end of the latest Farm Bill.  That could trigger higher milk prices when farmers no longer get the subsidies they rely on.

A New York Agriculture official says milk prices could double with a ripple effect on prices for dairy products like cheese and butter.
