(KTVI) - You know that awful feeling when you get a cramp in your leg or someplace else?

You're thinking oh boy here comes a charlie horse.

Physical Therapist with SSM, Keith Cronin, stopped by the studio to talk about some of the remedies for these annoying cramps.

Muscle cramps are painful, and somewhat of a mystery in medicine.

Cronin demonstrated the proper methods for stretching to relieve camps while on the field or at home.

Cronin mentioned a few tricks to alleviate different types of cramps.

For example, for those who suffer from foot cramps, a frozen water bottle may help with day to day foot cramps.

Also, a bed sheet or towel may be used in the middle of the night to help alleviate a calf cramp.
