Authorities tell us they expect the victim- a 22 year old man- to survive.
His injuries are described as non-life threatening.
It all happened about 11pm last night basically at the intersection of Altonwood and Halls Ferry Road in Jennings.
County Police responded to a call for five or six shots fired.
When they got there, they found the 22 year old man shot three times in the leg.
Authorities say they are being told that the victim was in the front passenger seat of a car on Halls Ferry when another car came up and someone from that second car just opened fire.
Investigators say the 22 year old went to a nearby home, knocked on the door and got help from a resident who called 911.
The victim was taken to a hospital by ambulance for treatment.
County police had Halls Ferry shut down for a time while they investigated.
At this point, investigators have no information about any suspects in the shooting.
Investigators did recovered 9mm shell casings from the scene.
This is the second shooting in this area in less than a week.
On Sunday night, a man was found murdered on Westchester Drive not far from where last night's shooting happened.
An arrest has been made in that murder case.
Police say at this point they don't have information connecting the two cases.
At this time, there is no word on exactly where the man was shot, but he is expected to pull through. St. Louis County Police had Halls Ferry Road shut down for a time while they investigated. At this point, investigators have no information about any suspects in the shootings.
