Alton man accused of having sex with a puppy

ALTON, IL (KTVI) – An Alton man allegedly caught in the act of having sex with a puppy is now behind bars.

Police say Terry Wayne Davis, 43, was charged with three counts of sexual conduct with an animal, a Class 4 felony.

Davis is also a sex offender who failed to register his change of address.

Police say a veterinarian who examined  “Lucy,” the 5-month old Rottweiler puppy, says she was not injured during the assaults.  Davis allegedly told police he had assaulted the dog twice  before being caught  in the act Tuesday.

Authorities say Davis had recently moved in the with dog’s owner.  The owner turned Davis in after he returned home and found him having sex with the dog on a loveseat.  He left the home and was picked up by police on Wednesday.

Davis is listed as a child sex offender on the Illinois State Police Offenders Registry. According to the registry, he forced a 16-year-old to have sex with him when he was 33.

Davis’ bail is set at $50,000.
