Ovechkin & Caps Knock off Blues 4-1

The St. Louis Blues suffered just their third regulation loss of the season to Alex Ovechkin and the Capitals, 4-1 on Sunday night in Washington, D.C. Ovechkin scored the first two goals of the game in the first period and the Blues never recovered. Jaroslav Halak started in goal for the Blues but stopped just three of the first six shots he faced as St. Louis fell behind 3-0 after one period of play.

Vladimir Sobotka scored the only Blues goal. It came on a second period power play. The Blues out shot the Caps 47-20 in the game, but Washington goalie Braden Holtby stopped 46 of those 47 shots. The Blues season record now stands at 13-3-3.
