Salvation Army dispatches disaster aid to Illinois

ST. LOUIS (KTVI) – The Salvation Army in St. Louis has dispatched emergency aid and staff to areas affected by Sunday’s series of tornados that struck several areas in Illinois.  A canteen was sent tornado ravaged Washington County, IL, New Minden, IL., Massac County, IL., and Brookport, IL.

The canteen is dedicated to serving first responders hot meals and drinks while rescue and recovery operations are under going in the EF4 tornado damaged areas.

The Salvation Army is working closely with local, state and federal officials in helping those affected by the storms to find shelter, food, water, and basic needs.
