MoDOT officials suggested drivers use the Poplar Street Bridge between Missouri and Illinois this weekend.
The roadway will go down to just one lane starting at 7 p.m. Friday, November 22, 2013. It should reopen by 6 a.m. Monday, November 25, 2013.
Crews will then move to Downtown St. Louis. They will first finish connecting Convention Plaza to westbound Interstate-70 at the Martin Luther King Bridge.
After the morning rush is over on Monday, they will permanently close the ramp from northbound Memorial Drive to westbound Interstate-70. It is time to start building the “Park over the Highway”. That is part of the new landscape for the new Gateway Archgrounds.
Drivers should then take 4th Street to Convention Plaza or Biddle Street. From there, drivers can access westbound I-70.
