MLS: St. Louis needs a stadium plan for a shot at a pro-soccer team

(KTVI) – Could a Major League Soccer team be coming to St. Louis? MLS Commissioner Don Garber gave his annual State of the League address in New York on Tuesday. He elaborated on expansion bids and said the league was making progress with potential ownership groups.

This is an excerpt of Simon Borg’s article for Major League Soccer, “Although Garber refrained from providing a firm timeline on either of the two expansion bids, he did reveal some of the cities that could be next in line for consideration, singling out Minneapolis, San Antonio, Austin and St. Louis.

But for any of those cities to have a realistic shot, they’ll need a plan for a downtown stadium.”
