HILLSBORO, MO. (KTVI) – The Jefferson County Council has reversed its self, and voted Monday to accept a $22,000 grant from the Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission to fund  DUI checkpoints in the county.

In October the council had voted to reject the grant over concerns about privacy at safety checks.

The council noted that the grant money will not be used for safety checkpoints or compliance with seat belt laws.
