MASCOUTAH, IL. (KTVI) – In two separate shipments Monday, December 9th, Mid-American Airport in St. Clair County received its largest international shipment of produce to date. North Bay Produce flew over 200,000 pound of blueberries valued at $1.3 million from Chile for distribution in the United States.

The shipment represented the growing presence of North Bay Produce at Mid-America with the expansion of its storage facility from 36,000 square feet to 53,000 square feet, and the addition of a cold storage area that will allow the company to store fruit for up to 11 days, to stop unwanted pest introduction into the U.S.
