DE SOTO, MO (KTVI)– After more than a month of investigation, the Jefferson County prosecutor charged 25-year-old Jeremy Dean Rush with child abuse.

De Soto police say Rush had been left to babysit his cousin`s two year old son while she and her husband were working.

When the parents came home, they discovered their son had a fractured arm, severe bruising, internal injuries and bite marks.

The toddler’s two siblings, also in the suspect`s care that night, were not hurt.

The abused boy had to be hospitalized for several days, but police say he is home and doing well.

It’s a sad state of affairs when a crime against a child has been discovered and these are the only comments to be found. Where has the outrage against children being hurt? I know that we are supposed to be innocent until proven guilty. However, usually where there is somke there is fire.
