NEW MINDEN, IL (KTVI)-  A family who had been helping victims of the November 17th New Minden tornado now needs help of their own.   According to the Hoyleton, Illinois Fire Chief, a home on Main Street was destroyed by a fire on Thursday.  That home belongs to the Malone family. No one was injured.

Just one day before, the Malones had been helping another family, the Tippins, move into a new home. The Tippins lost a grandparent, an uncle, and their home in last month’s tornado.

There is no word yet on the cause of the fire.

What types of in-kind donations are sought? Who should anyone offering to help contact? Surely there is enough holiday spirit around to share with those who had been helping others!

An article elsewhere on the Internet about this gave: Malone Family Benefit Fund / Farmers and Merchants National Bank / 120 W. Saint Louis St. / Nashville IL 62263-1138. I just sent a letter with info about construction types which will resist both tornadoes and fire. I am badly unemployed and can’t donate money, just information, mostly via my website.
