Wichita man arrested for planning to blow up airport

(KTVI) – A Kansas City man is jailed after an FBI investigation uncovered his plans to bomb the Wichita, KS airport.

According to Fox News, Terry L. Loewen, 58, is an aviation technician at the airport and had been planning an attack for months.
Authorities say Loewen planned to drive a vehicle loaded with explosives to a terminal, setting off an explosion and dying as a martyr.

The FBI says Loewen was arrested Friday morning while he was trying to gain access to a tarmac. They also said the vehicle he was in did not have explosives.
Wichita Joint Terrorism Task Force since early summer 2013. It is alleged that in the past he has made statements that he was resolved to commit an act of violent jihad.
