Belleville city council approves tax increase

(KTVI) – If you own a home in  Belleville,  get ready to pay more in property taxes.

The Belleville News Democrat reports the city council voted on Monday to approve a tax levy. The new levy is an increase of about 1.29 percent. that means an owner of a $100,000 home will see a property tax increase of about $9 next year.

    Just more of the trend these days: ALL taxes ARE going UP – EXCEPT income taxes on the wealthy! In FACT, ALL other taxes MUST go UP, to PAY FOR the fact that income taxes on the wealthy aren’t going up, and pay for all those other tax breaks and welfare handouts for the wealthy. Sales taxes, fees, property taxes (in poorer areas, of course) all going through the roof while the Tea Party protects their precious wealthy friends from ANY “new taxes”. Some day, I hope soon, more than 55% of Americans will figure that out – right now, it’s hovering at about 52%.
