The slumping Illini dropped their first home game of the season 66-58 on Wednesday night in Champaign, IL. It’s Illinois’ third straight loss in Big Ten play. Tracy Abrams led the Illini with 13 points, while Rayvonte Rice and Joseph Bertrand each scored 11. But Illinois could not contend with Purdue’s big man in the middle, A.J. Hammons. He scored a game high 17 points in the Boilermakers win. The loss drops the Illini’s record to 13-5 overall and 2-3 in the Big Ten.
