ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI)-- According the Better Business Bureau, St. Louis business owner Brittish C. Williams, who runs the online clothing website Love of Labels Boutique, has received 30 complaints over the last 8 months alleging orders were slow, of poor quality or not shipped at all. The advisory also says that Williams has an 'F' rating and is set to appear in the new season of VH1`s Basketball Wives LA franchise and has a shoe line in the works. Chris Thetford with the St. Louis Better Business Bureau says the complaints could not be ignored.
"We attempted to contact the company in December by asking them to explain what was going on and why these things were happening, and we got no response," said Thetford.
Fox 2 made contact with Williams via phone, and she says her business is new, and there were major issues with her distributor. Williams originally agreed to an interview, but instead a statement was sent through her publicist Kenneth Robison of Daniels Entertainment saying in part:
"I would like to sincerely apologize as the founder/creator of Love of Labels to all those who were affected by the delay in items shipped. Love of Labels take this matter very seriously, which is why we have switched to a larger manufacture that allows us to ship ALL orders the next business day. I can assure you that your concerns are not being overlooked and that we are working effortlessly to accommodate every request."
Thetford stated, "Consumers have told us that they`ve sent items back and have had problems getting refunds or getting exchanges."
The BBB says a company can get back into a good standing by responding to their letters and making moves to improve services and products. It can take up to three years to raise the grade.
"If the consumer experience improves and orders are delivered on time and complaints stop with the BBB over time thatgrade will go up. Always use a credit card with your purchase so you can always challenge the charge," he also said.
Williams also says she will continue to build her business and has hired additional staff to help get orders out on time.
Fox 2 also contacted VH1 about the story and so far no response. The next season of Basketball Wives LA starts on February 17th.
