Blues Blow 3-1 Lead, Lose to Senators in Shootout

The Blues grabbed a 3-1 second period lead, only to give up three straight third period goals to Ottawa, before finally losing in a shootout to the Senators 5-4.

Brenden Morrow gave the Blues a 1-0 lead in the first period. T. J. Oshie and David Backes scored in the second period to build that 3-1 lead. But the Senators scored three goals in two minutes and 35 seconds of the third period to grab a 4-3 lead. Jordan Leopold scored his first goal of the season to tie the game at 4-4.

After a scoreless overtime, the two teams had to go five rounds to determine the winner. The Senators Kyle Turris scored the game winning goal in the shootout. Senators goalie Robin Lehner stopped 46 of the 50 shots the Blues fired on him.
