$10,000 reward offered for suspect in fatal Kirkwood hit-and-run

Update: Police have talked to the potential witness but are still looking for the suspect’s vehicle.

KIRKWOOD, MO (KTVI) – Authorities continue to search for a vehicle that struck and killed a Kirkwood man on Sunday night.

50-year-old Joe Auffenberg was crossing Kirkwood road at Bodley when the hit and run driver, traveling northbound, ran him down and kept going. So far, police do not have any suspects in the hit and run.

A $10,000 reward is being offered by the victim’s family for the arrest and conviction of the person responsible. A reward of up to $1,000 is being offered through Crimestoppers.

Kirkwood Police have identified and questioned a potential witness. This man was shopping at Walgreens on North Kirkwood Road before the accident. Police say he is not a suspect in this case.
