Dave Murray’s latest stl forecast and weather disco…For Friday…February 28, 2014

***End of the month and March coming in like a lion…especially Late Saturday night and Sunday into Sunday night…before that a littlke slop Friday afternoon and evening…wet snow and rain…above freezign…should not cause any real problems…travel Sunday looks like a mess***

Friday:

A little sun giving way to clouds, windy…a little warmer…with rain and wet snow…light for the afternoon…it is not much
Winds: Southeast 10-25 m.p.h.
High: 39 degrees.

Friday night:

Clouds…some light snow and flurries…windy
Winds: South 10-25 m.p.h.
Low: 25 degrees.

Saturday:

Mostly cloudy and okay…dry all day long…chilly to cold
Winds: West 5-15 m.p.h.
High: 35 degrees.

Sleet and freezing rain dveloping late Saturday night and sleet and freezing rain Sunday into Sunday afternoon ending as snow mid to late afternoon into the night…windy and cold

THE WEATHER DISCO:

Two systems on the playing field Friday and over the weekend…the first system…a fading little low pressure that does not have its act together…with clouds and a little light rain and sloppy wet snow Friday afternoon and evening…just not excited about this thing..a little moisture…but should not cause any real concerns or travel problems. Saturday is fine…dry…partly to mostly cloudy and in the low to mid 30’s…that is okay. Then the problems start…Saturday night…especially late Saturday night, Sunday and Sunday night…its a mess…with sleet and freezing rain…with the focus right now on sleet…then kicking to snow mid to late day Sunday and into Sunday night. The forecast problem…the temperature profiles in the atmsophere from the ground all the way up and the mix of moisture puts the numbers up in the air..the key…travel will be a mess late Saturday night into Sunday night…may want to rethink any plans and lets worry about amounts later…this will take time to unfold and actual amounts may be very much in question until the system actual gets going…stay tune. One this blows by–its all about more deep winter cold.
