I don’t see anything wrong with this at all. He loves his dog hell he took her to the Vet to have spleen removed. I’m sure that costed a couple hundred bucks. Taboo maybe but its legal.

More like a couple thousand. Definitely he wanted to share the love. Upon reflection I bet the firing was probably all about his using tools on an animal and cross contamination. Poor dog having to share people germs. Lol

That dog didn’t have a choice in the matter. It was not life saving, it was cosmetic. Why the vet allowed this shoud also be an issue. There are plenty of people who would repeat this now seeing this.

People……This is no different than cropping ears, cropping a tail, or getting the dog fixed it never has a choice it is all what you think is appropriate. Cropping and fixing in 90 percent of cases has nothing to do with life saving. The only problem with this is the jerks that will try to do this in such a way it puts the animal in distress.

  • PEOPLE ARE STUPID

MORE THAN LIKELY….ALL THE PEOPLE WHO AGREE W/ THIS PERSON & THINKS IT’S OK….PROBABLY HAVE TATTOOS ALL OVER THEIR BODY!!!!! BUT IT’S WRONG ON SOOO, SOOO MANY LEVELS!!!!!!! A DOGS SKIN IS NOT THE SAME AS A HUMANS!!!!!! THAT COULD PROBABLY MAKE THE DOG SICK!!!!! THAT’S PROBABLY THE ONLY DANG REASON HE TOOK HER TO THE VET, SO WHEN SHE WAS UNDER….HE COULD DO IT W/O HER FIGHTIN HIM!!!!!!! NOT ONLY SHOULD THE TATTOO ARTIST LOSE HIS JOB …BUT THE VETERINARY SHOULD HAVE LOST THEIRS AS WELL!!!!!!!!!
I DON’T LIKE THIS, NOR DO I APPROVE!!!!!!

Just fyi mist of the people who protect your rights and fight for your freedom are “covered in tattoos” I was taught at a young age not to judge a book by its cover and you seem to be doing just that. There are so many people out there starving their pets and dumping them because they grew bored of them this man loves hand of so much he decided to give her something that shows the world he loves her. I see nothing wrong with this. It would be wrong if he did it to her while she was awake and tied down.

Hunting dogs are routinely tattooed, tagged, and cold branded, none of which are done under anesthesia. Humans have been putting identifying marks on their animals since time immemoreal, as well as decorating them for ceremonies, hunts and battle. This man behaved in an ethical and affectionate manner towards an animal he clearly loves.

This is so wrong. Whats this guys problem? To you people that agree with this are just as stupid as he is. This dog can get infected. Im glad he lost his job. He should lose his license. The vet should be punished in some way too. I hope he dont get to keep the dog.

Im confused, your name is “PEOPLE ARE STUPID,” but judging from your comment, I can only think you were referring to yourself.

    • Kristin

I agree with the people saying that this is wrong. Not only for the man who did it but for the vet to let him do it is wrong. So what if he was under it is still going to hurt when he wakes up. That just isnt right at all to do that to a defenseless animal.

OH CRUCIFY HIM!!! oh wait thats what I think when I see those poor animals dressed up in clothes. If he had done it on a celebrity’s animal or at home it would have been the next big thing, DOGGY TATTOOS, get a matching tattoo with your best friend,

  • Mat

Oh now, it’s okay to tat a human and not a dog?? This world it messed up. The rule should BE: tat a dog and NOT a human!!!

@People are Stupid, no i don’t have any tatoo’s and the only body piercings i have, are on my ears. i see nothing wrong with this. the only thing i could see as being an issue is the fact of him using his employers ink and needles, which the story doesn’t state id he did that……

ok so their are places that give your dog a tattoo when they are spayed or nutered. the guy cared enough to take the dog to the vet and Im sure wasent cheap to have surgery done , he could have just had the dog put down, If the done was asleep. whats the big deal. no one can never tell him its not his dog… Great Idea… Give the guy his job back!

many pure breads are actually have tattoos so that you can identify them and their heritage! i had one from germany and that is how they do them. i dont understand why anyone would get upset over it it was not cruel and is common practice for many pet owners….not much different than placing a chip under their skin lol

  • tonya hatter

why isn’t the vet in trouble from letting him do this, what a sick world, I have tattoos yay they are cool and all but whats the diff between tat your dog and a child? neither have a choice I think its sick.

People have been tattooing dogs for years, especially certain breeds and bloodlines, it’s usually numbers or a symbol. How is that any different than branding a cow, that’s worse pain and the cow isn’t awake. He obviously lived the dog to pay for an operation and at least the dog was out. I wouldn’t do it to my dog but as long as he didn’t hurt him and hold him down as he fought, it’s his dog. He shouldn’t of list his job because you can cross contaminate if so every person with a tattoo would have every thing the people tattooed before them has.

  • shirley

I think this is awesome, it shows how much love he has for his dog. The dog was already under for the surgery so dog wasnt in any pain. It is crazy this man got fired because of the Love he shared with his dog.

  • Rose

i would have to say no now im not into tattoos my self but on the other hand it will help with the pet theifes if u put a tattoo on ur pet at lest u will be able to say its urs not the pet flipping people

  • Carllmncoosa

What about dog chips, I’m sure cutting you open and putting a chip under your skin feels good.
