Jon Ekey’s last second three pointer broke a 63-63 tie and gave the Fighting Illini a thrilling 66-63 win at Iowa on Saturday night. The win improves Illinois’ seeding at the Big Ten Tournament next week. They finished the Big Ten with a 7-11 record and could be seeded as high as seventh in the conference tournament.

The Illini roared to a 20-6 lead early in this game, only to see Iowa go on a 17-1 run to retake the lead. Rayvonte Rice scored 15 points to lead Illinois in scoring. Nnanna Egwu added 14 points and Ekey scored 12 points, all of three pointers. Illinois finishes the regular season with a record of 18-13.
