CBC and Incarnate Word Win State Championships

It was a good night for St. Louis area high schools on Saturday night at Mizzou Arena in Columbia, MO. Both CBC and Incarnate Word brought home state basketball championships.

CBC won the Boys Class 5 title with an 86-77 overtime win over Columbia Hickman. Jordan Barnett, the Cadets senior forward ended his high school career in fine fashion. Barnett scored a game high 43 points to go along with 20 points to lead CBC to their sixth state championship in basketball. For Cadets coach Justin Tatum, it’s a title in his first season as it’s basketball coach.

Incarnate Word won the Girls Class 4 Missouri High School Basketball Championship with a 60-43 win over Dexter. The Red Knights star player all season, had another great performance. Junior forward Napheesa Collier scored 33 points in leading Incarnate Word to their sixth ever state title in basketball. It’s the Red Knights fourth championship in the last five seasons. The Red Knights finish their season at 31 and 1 and another championship.
