Elderly drivers (age 60 and over) need to be tested every two years. It is not up for debate. I am 48 and I notice a big difference in my ability from when I was in my 20s. This is easily as dangerous as drunk driving, if not more so. i would gladly go every two years and take a driving test to prove I am safe.

Eric was one of my best friends. This news still shocks me. I do not wanna believe it that such an awesome guy and a great father and great friend is gone. I agree that the elderly need to be tested or they need to face the same jail time as if they were 25. Taking a life is taking a life. No matter what age you are doesn’t give you an excuse to get out of it

So sorry for the loss of your friend. Prayers go out to friends and family of the deceased. We were cut off yesturday by a very older gentlemen while on our bike. We were merging at the same time, he cut across two lanes without looking. Luckily my husband was defensive driving and watching this fella from the moment he saw him. If he hadn’t been, our story would have been beside your friends’. I do believe older drivers need be tested atleast every 5 years. And more of an effort needs to be place on motorcycle awareness NOT via the internet. Most 75 yr olds wont see it on facebook, they’ll see it on billboards and newspapers.

So sorry for your loss, it is more dangerous everyday to be on a bike, between the elderly, the texting teens and those that just run us off the road for no freakin reason! To all my biking buddies, always drive defensively…..and know if it happens to me, it will be doing something I love!

It is NEVER the fault of the motorcyclist. Cars and trucks should not be allowed on roads.
