ST. LOUIS (KTVI) – In 2013 2,800 parents called the specialist at the Missouri Poison Control Center at Cardinal Glennon concerning kids who were exposed to cleaning products by mistake.

Doctors say that many products that we eat or drink also have poisonous counterparts that look alike. As an example, sports drinks that can look similar to some cleaning solutions that can easily fool a child.

The packaging can be confusing to children and parents. That confusion can  lead to tragic results, and doctors want to get the word out to parents to safely store away dangerous look alike products out of the reach of children, and to read all product labels.
