EAST ST. LOUIS, IL (KTVI) -Police are still trying to figure out how a three-year-old girl was missing for close to 17 hours in East St. Louis. The child's mother went to work Monday morning and left her daughter with a babysitter, but the child went missing around 4:00 pm from the Orr Weathers Housing Development.

Ronesha Milner was found safe around 8:30am Tuesday, sitting alone, outside a Foot Locker store at 25th and State in East St. Louis. She appeared to be fine when reunited with her mother, but did go to the hospital to be checked over.

Family members are just happy she's okay.

I’m glad she has been found. As a mom of two young kids, I can only imagine the panic of not knowing where your child is.

I’m also incredibly disappointed in the comments here. Ignorance reigns supreme, I suppose.

I would question the babysitter. What was the babysitter doing that the baby came up missing. You have to be careful as to who watch your child. It is a blessing that the baby is back home with her mom.
