ST. LOUIS (AP) _ Police say a 33-year-old man charged in his father’s murder at a St. Louis senior apartment complex may have fled to Atlanta.

Laderic Felix McDonald was charged late Tuesday with murder and armed criminal action in the death of his father, 67-year-old Felix McDonald. The older man was found dead in his home at the Mercy Seat Apartments.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch (bit.ly/1uC7isX) reports that police suspect Laderic McDonald used his father’s stolen credit card to buy a bus ticket to Georgia. He is accused of bludgeoning and strangling his father, whose body was found in his apartment Tuesday morning.

A relative told the newspaper that Felix McDonald had moved into the senior apartments after he was diagnosed with cancer.
